Along with the manuscript, the author must submit the following accompanying documents to the editorial office:

  1. Information about the author(s) according to the established form (Full name, academic degree, title, position, place of work, contact details, ORCID).
  2. Consent to the processing of personal data.

The publication accepts articles from Candidates and Doctors of Sciences among the teaching staff of educational organizations, researchers, postgraduates, applicants for academic degrees, and practitioners in order to provide scientists and practicing specialists with the opportunity for rapid publication of the results of scientific research in the field of law, subject to high-quality and rapid peer review of manuscripts. Articles prepared by students and/or master's students or co-authored with students and/or master's students are not accepted for publication.

Peer Review Process

All reviewers are recognized specialists in the subject matter of the materials being reviewed. The Executive Secretary sends the article for review to a member of the Editorial Board supervising the relevant scientific specialties and having publications on the topic of the article within the last 3 years (internal review). In the absence of an Editorial Board member meeting these requirements, or upon receipt of an article from an Editorial Board member, the Executive Secretary, on behalf of the Editorial Board, sends the article for review to specialists in the relevant branch of law, a Doctor or Candidate of Sciences who has had scientific works on the issues stated in the article within the last 3 years (external review).

2.2. Type of review: double-blind. The manuscript is provided to the reviewer without indicating the authors, and the reviewer remains unknown to the author. Review period: no more than 4 weeks from the date of manuscript registration.

2.3. The Editorial Office sends copies of reviews to the authors. Correspondence with authors is conducted via email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

2.4. All necessary corrections must be made by the author in the final version of the manuscript. After revision, the article may be sent for re-review.

2.5. The final decision on the publication or rejection of the article is made at a meeting of the Editorial Board, considering the reviewers' opinions, and is recorded in the minutes. In case of rejection, a reasoned refusal is sent to the author.

2.6. The review must contain a qualified analysis, an objective reasoned assessment, and justified recommendations.

2.7. The review addresses the following points:

  • Subject of research, compliance of the title with the content;
  • Compliance with the profile and subject matter of the journal, belonging to a section;
  • Research methodology;
  • Relevance;
  • Scientific novelty, originality;
  • Style, structure, content;
  • Compliance of the abstract, keywords, and references with requirements;
  • Appeal to opponents, presence of discussion;
  • Conclusions, interest for the readership.

The final part contains conclusions and recommendations: publish, send for revision, or reject.

2.8. Reviews are stored in the journal's editorial office for five years.

2.9. The editorial office sends copies of reviews to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation upon receipt of a corresponding request by the editorial office.

2.10. In case of disagreement with the reviewer's comments, the author has the right to submit a reasoned response. The Editorial Board considers the author's arguments and makes a decision: to agree with the author, to send the article for re-review to another specialist, or to refuse publication.

Financial Terms of Publication

Publication of articles in the journal "Legal Culture" is free of charge. No fees are charged for review, publication, or placing articles in open access.

Open Access Policy and Transfer of Rights.

The journal "Legal Culture" is an open access journal. By publishing an article in our journal, the author agrees that:

  1. The article's metadata (title, abstract, keywords, bibliography, information about authors) is distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, which allows unlimited use provided authorship is indicated.
  2. The full text of the article is placed in open access on the journal's website.
  3. The author grants the editorial office a non-exclusive right to use the article (publication, distribution, placement in databases).
  4. The author confirms that they have all necessary rights to transfer the specified rights to the editorial office.

Procedure for Publication. Responsibility. Functions

The preparation of the original layout of the journal issue, publication, and circulation is carried out by the Volga Region Institute (Branch) of VSUJ (RPA of the Ministry of Justice of Russia).

The distribution of the journal is carried out by VSUJ (RPA of the Ministry of Justice of Russia) and the Volga Region Institute (Branch) of VSUJ (RPA of the Ministry of Justice of Russia) according to the appendices.

Requirements for the Formatting of Materials Submitted for Publication in the journal "Legal Culture"

The manuscript of the article must contain a justification of relevance, scientific novelty, originality, an appeal to opponents, the presence of discussion, and conclusions reflecting the main results of the conducted research.

The article must contain the following elements in the specified order (in Russian and English):

  • UDC (Universal Decimal Classification);
  • Initials and surname of the author(s), organization, city, country;
  • Title of the article;
  • Abstract (volume: up to 200 words);
  • Keywords (5-10 words);
  • Main text of the article;
  • List of references;
  • Information about the author(s) (Full name, academic degree, title, position, place of work, email, ORCID).

ORCID: Authors must be registered in the ORCID system (https://orcid.org/) and provide their identifier in the manuscript.

The style of the article must comply with the requirements for scientific works and not be journalistic. The author should avoid using quotes from popular magazines and newspapers, or references to statements made on television. Links to Internet sources must comply with GOST (Russian state standard).

Materials previously published in other publications, including by the author of the manuscript themselves, will not be accepted. If a manuscript is submitted simultaneously to the editorial offices of several publications, the author is obliged to notify the Executive Secretary of the journal "Legal Culture".

Article texts are accepted only if they meet the following technical requirements:

The volume of one article should not exceed 10 pages.

Text format: Word text editor, font style - Times New Roman; line spacing - 1.5; text font size - 14, footnotes - 12. Margins: left - 2 cm, right - 2 cm, top - 2.5 cm, bottom - 2.5 cm. Paragraph indentation -1.25 cm. Text without hyphens. Electronic version of text, tables, and formulas is given in RTF format.

Footnotes are formatted in square brackets within the article text, indicating the source number from the reference list and the page or article of the normative act to which the author refers (e.g., [5, p. 115] or [5, pp. 115--117]). Upon repeated citation of a source, it is assigned the number of the initial citation.

The bibliography is formatted at the end of the article in the order of mention of sources in the text (not alphabetically or by hierarchy of sources). The formatting of the bibliography must comply with GOST R 7.0.5-2008. For normative acts, the latest edition is indicated in the list. Electronic resources without an author, statistical compilations, normative legal acts, and judicial practice may be indicated in page footnotes.

Pages must be numbered.

Placement of figures and tables in the text of articles is allowed. Figures and tables are prepared on separate sheets. For figures, it is necessary to use black ink; do not glaze photographs. Electronic versions of figures and photographs are prepared in editors like Photoshop (*.tif, *.jpg, *.psd, resolution 600 dpi) or CorelDraw (version 7) -- as separate files per illustration, with their printouts attached.

The author must provide the following information in Russian and English:

  • Surname, first name (in full), patronymic (in full), academic degree, academic title, honorary title, position (in full, without abbreviations), primary place of work (study), email, city, correspondent contact information (postal address for communication with the scientific community, which may be placed in open access), contact phone numbers, ORCID;
  • Title of the article;
  • Abstract;
  • Keywords for the article;
  • Bibliographic list appended to the article, compiled according to current national and international standards.

Abstract: volume - up to 200 words. The abstract should contain the relevance, subject, purpose of the work, methodology of the conducted research, main results, scope of their application, and conclusions. The abstract and keywords must correspond to the topic of the article and its content.

The editorial office checks the text in the "Anti-plagiarism" system. The originality of the text must be at least 70% (excluding correctly formatted quotations). The permissible borrowing rate for scientific articles should be no more than 20% of the total volume of the article.

The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject material without explanation if it does not comply with these Rules in form and/or content.

Materials that do not meet the specified requirements will not be considered.

Manuscripts and other accompanying materials submitted with them are not returned to authors.
